im back from my blogging hiatus. haha.

just to update..
ive been going from camp to camp and activity to activity before school starts.
not that im complaining cos it's really fun and i nvr felt so productive ever since school stopped. haha :)

Im still quite uncomfortable with the term 'undergraduate'..
sounds so.. old and senior and wells.. OLD!
it seems only yesterday that i was starting secondary school. haha.
im still used to the terms 'student' , 'pupil' or even 'kid' !
but still getting accustomed to the term 'undergraduate'.

wells.. the people in smu have been really nice.
and i really really am quite excited for school to start.

ohh do you know that smu has a sauna?
and the gym toilets are super shiok! There's hot water! haha.
plus you can watch tv on every cardiovascular machine in the gym (e.g treadmills and running bikes)!

i think the student welfare in smu is very well taken care of :)

i cant believe this cleaner auntie asked my grandma if i was her daughter today!

it's either cos my grandma looks young, or i look old!
i think it's the latter.

i remember holding my mother's friend's daughter's (ahaha so confusing) hand while we were shopping in china about a year or two back and this salesgirl actually asked if she was my daughter！
holy smokes. i nearly fainted please.
ahaha.

plus recently this busdriver uncle looked at me suspiciously when i paid student fare with coins.
i was so nervous when he asked to see my ezlink card. haha.
i cant believe he actually took the card and scanned it to check if it was adult or student fare!!
most drivers i have encountered so far only required me to flash my student pass.
darn.
i must have looked too old to be a student.

havent blogged for some time.. to update on my job:
- there are more than 4 part-timers now. haha
- my job is fun yet boring at the same time. go figure!
- all my colleagues are super duper nice. feels like one big riverisland family. ahaha
- my sec sch friend is working at the forever21 shop just opposite!
- riverisland has officially opened
- the MOS dj that spun on fri night was goood. haha.

i get excited when i talk about my job. ahaha.
but on a more sombre note.. i just found out today that my sec4 form teacher's husband has just passed away due to some sailing accident.. so sudden i keep thinking. i remember seeing their entire family at church just the other week..
i have to admit though i've never really liked her that much, cos she always looked stuckup, unapproachable and was constantly giving sacarstic remarks(oops but she really is a good teacher lah), somehow seeing her so dishevelled and vulnerable at church today made me feel somewhat sympathetic and sorry that i've even felt this way about her before.
life's unpredictable. though cliched.. it's really one heck of a rollar coaster ride. one moment you're up and the next you're down. the many deaths recently got me thinking about life and death. like what serene asked me previously.. " do we live to die?"
wow. no one had ever asked me such a question before. of course i gave my 'good christian's answer 'and said that we live for God and that death was only part of our journey before eternal life and yadah yadah yadah (well.. something along that line)
but the more i thought about it, the more it seemed correct. we DO live to die dont we? i mean we all KNOW that we are going to die one day.. arent we just waiting for the day that we no longer exist on earth? what's the point of having to live then? to have to experience joy and laughter followed by pain and suffering and the cycle just continues right up to the day for us to leave. it just doesnt make much sense. why cant we just not get born and never have to have any of this. or better still.. fast forward living to death since we all know the ending point of our journey. Life's a test right? Somehow this test is harder than any of the major exams ive ever sat for. I think im starting to lose the meaning of living. Sometimes i just start crying over nothing. I dont know why i feel like it.. but i just do. Is this some sort of symptom for depression? There are days when i feel like im losing my sanity. Like everything that seemed right to me before just dont seem as clear anymore. I really do miss my innocent days in ij.. haha. when life seemed so much simpler. All of a sudden the ij spirit song came back to me. The image of us swaying to that slow sad tune appeared. Arms around each other. Singing together. Whole hall as one.

wowee riverisland clothes are REALLY nice! nicer than topshop i think. haha. im not being bias please :) too bad it's a bit pricey :(
working at the warehouse today was tiring but fun! met a few nice people :) so it wasnt so bad. haha. sorting the stocks was tedious. i never knew so much effort goes in before the clothes get displayed! there were only 4 part-timers and they're all going to stop working before i do :( hopefully i'll get to know the full-timers better by then :)
going to the shop early tmr to help set it up in time for next week's grand opening!

ahh i havent blogged in some time already. Been feeling rather lazy to update. haha.
wells.. to summarise,

-ive finally found a job (okay it may not be the BEST job.. but i just grabbed whatever i got offered first. am i being stupid? im going to be working in riverisland at vivocity.

- im involved in the youth alpha programme at BSC.

- ive got to figure out how to put makeup for work without risking looking like a total loser.

- im scared that i'll end up like 'andrea' in 'devil wears prada'. the only unglam and childish looking one :S

- im wasting my life away pretty much before my job starts.

- there's SO much to do but need the finances first.

- ive been told i look OLD by some 16yearold kid. whattt? i thought people said i look like a 15yearold? what happened to that? ahaha.

- it's been raining so much that im amazed at how much water the sky really has.

- the weather's so cold! especially when the wind blows (im in singapore right now if you're wondering. haha) i wont be surprised if spore snows in a few years time.. no thanks to the weird weather around the world. Al Nino!

im back from china and i have LOTS to blog about cos my internet in china was down due to the quake and all. it was super laggy.. but i kind of forget some of the stuff that i wanted to say after so long. haha.

too bad i wasnt in my house when the quake happened cos i think it would have been really exciting to experience it. couldnt really feel the quake while i was on the bus. haha. from what i heard was that there were 2 tremors that lasted about 10 seconds each. you're most probably wondering 'how in the world can i experience the earthquake when im in china?' ahaha. that's cos taiwan's quite near from where i was staying.
when my family and i returned home, the entire community of residents were downstairs. some were even in their pajamas! that's when we heard abt the quake in taiwan and that they felt tremors too so they all came down in case the building would collapse or that might be another bigger quake. i was thinking.. how bad could the tremors have gotten right?? after all.. it's not THAT near for the quake to be strong enough to collapse the building and standing out in the cold in the middle of the night wasnt very nice. ahaha. but my father's friend said that they're the locals and should have had more experience in such stuff.. so they should know what they're doing. hmm that's quite true. Better safe than sorry! haha.
anyways.. after some time everyone just started going back to their homes so we just followed along. i wonder where they got their information from on the quake and whether it was safe to go back in :S

oh! on the day before we returned, we went to a strawberry farm too! haha. it was nice picking strawberries. i never knew that strawberries grew on the ground. thought they came from a bush or something. haha. the strawberries were really BIG and JUICY and SWEET and FRESH. never the kind that you see in supermarkets! :D

then i took a bus to hk and a plane to singpore on my own whilst my family took a car to shenzhen and another plane to singapore. yays. i like travelling alone!

yays went to macau and zhuhai over the weekend and it was goodgoodgood :)
macau is a really nice place to live in i think. it's like europe with chinese people. ahaha. the buildings, the atmosphere, the culture.. everything's soo nice. or at least when i compare it to china :p

wells.. we stayed over at zhuhai for the night cos the hotels in china were much cheaper than those in macau and zhuhai is just next to macau. it's like singapore and malaysia.. just slightly nearer cos you can walk from one country to the next instead of having to drive or take a bus.

OH and i tried an authentic macau portugese eggtart! :D it was NICE. haha. but too bad i couldnt try the really popular one near The St Paul Ruins cos they were sold out. haha you can just tell how POPULAR they really are. but the ones that i tried were nice too so im not too sad that i didnt get my hands on the other tarts. anyways.. how bad can eggtarts get right? :)

ahh yes and i bought my first pair of boots at zhuhai! yays. and i wore them today :) felt a bit weird at first cos i wasnt used to wearing footwear that nearly went all the way up to my knees. especially since i live in singapore. ahaha ive worn sandals or open-toed shoes for nearly the entire of my life (except when i go to sch) so wearing boots was a new experience! but it really does help to keep my toes nice and warm :) had been wearing my sneakers for the past week and boy were my toes freeezzing. haha. i think im gg to be wearing my boots for some time during this winter :)

btw i was wondering.. if hk people are called hongkongers, china people are called chinese and singapore people are called singaporeans, what are macau people called?? macau-ese? macau-reans? macau-ers?

after a few days of rotting away at my dad's apt,watching endless dvds, ive found out a new way of roasting marshmallows right from the comfort of my couch. haha.

all you need are marshmallows, a chopstick and a heater (which is rather inevitable during cold weathers. haha.)
and voila! you have nice warm heated marshmallows that are nice and crispy on the outside and soft and gooey on the inside!
and no extra carbon or chao da parts included. haha :)

hello there! havent blogged for quite some time and SO much have happened. ahaha.

wells.. touched down on thurs and the weather wasnt too cold. at least not like what i was expecting it to be cos my sis was telling me over msn how freeeezing it was here. haha. guess the weather was good on the day i arrived :)

then on sat we went to hongkong disneyland. yays! we actually booked through this china tour agency cos it was cheaper than if we were to book it by ourselves. and yes we had to travel with the tour group AND the china people. ahaha. let's just say it was a new experience.
i think we really got cheated of our money.. although the price per person was cheaper than if we didnt book through the agency, it was really really really BAD. the breakfast we had was the cheapest breakfast i had ever seen anywhere in hk.. and it was real horrible. there was no meat no vegetables.. nothing much really. just plain watery oats/porridge (or whatever it was), hardboiled eggs, plain beehoon and that's about it :S :S
i knew tour groups' breakfasts werent spectacular.. but this was really THE worst of the worst. ahaha. ok i sound like some whiny spoilt brat.. but the chinese were saying this is quite good already. some other agencies' food was even worse. what?!
To make things worse.. we had two guides - a hk guide and a mainland guide with us and the hk guide was just DAO DAO DAO. omigoodness. i really couldnt stand his arrogance. he acted like he was superior over us or something. dont know if it's because the group was from the mainland or what but he was just plain biased and i hope i'll never see his stinkin' face again. wahaha :p
btw he's called fish. ohh dear me isnt there a better name to call yourself? and isnt fish a girl's name or something? ahaha. but the mainland guide was really nice :) i really pity him cos he had to do all the dirty work for the hk guide. like waiting for the last ones and searching for those who were lost and helping us sign in and out of our hotel rooms. he pretty much did all the sai kang jobs. haha. AND in the bus, the hk guide just had to place his louis vuitton bag on the mainland guide's seat and couldnt really bother that the poor guide didnt have any space to sit
:( and he had to sit at the edge of the seat for most of the bus journeys cos there werent any seats left. EVIL i say. ahaha.

But we booked the trip mainly cos of the disneyland visit and that was really the main and only attraction on our itinery since we had been to most of the other attractions that were being visited. haha. and it was good :) wells.. there werent much rides but disneyland's more about the ambience i think. if you're looking to take rides and stuff i think ocean park would suit you better. haha.
so we took a gazilion pictures of the buildings and surroundings in there :) and we watched the fireworks at night too :):) haha. they came out of the sleeping beauty castle (or maybe behind) and it was just preettttyy. haha. dont think it'll upload any pics today cos that might take too long. maybe next time! haha

oh oh and i saw jinyan in hk too! wahaha. i was so so shocked when i saw him cos i would have never expected to see him there and what more in such a secluded place like where i met him! it's not the tourist part of the island and mainly a residential area. haha. the world is really really small. ahh talking about a small world.. i also met this girl on the airplane. haha. she's a year younger and we really have soo much in common. we were both travelling alone, sat next to each other, wear braces, long hair, contacts, father working here (hers hk, mine china), lived alone during the past period, both were at the post-prom party at attica (!), and so so much more. we were both simply amazed at how common our lives were and what a small world it really is cos we most probably had seen each other before but never really knew. haha. life works in mysterious ways.

and then just today i witnessed this guy being beaten up by some people cos he had just stolen a handphone or something. it was really really scary to see someone beaten up so badly when you cant do anything about it.. although the guy DID do something wrong.. i dont think it was right for the other people to just beat him up. you catch him but you really dont have a right to trash him up. the poor guy was screaming for his life and for someone to save him. ohh dear.. i really cant describe how badly he was beaten up. it's like how my sister said.. all of a sudden you stop breathing and cant seem to do anything.
the guy was kicked off his motorcycle onto the ground and kicked and punched till his helmet broke. the other guys just aimed at his head and just punched and kicked.. then i saw this person who took the helmet and sent it crashing down hard on the guy's head over and over again. :/ :/
gosh. and hearing the guy crying and pleading for them to stop was just unbearable..
we managed to witness it cos we were eating along this open-aired stall by the road side when this happened. the lady boss told us that this was common especially since it's nearing the new year.. she said that it's common to see these thugs getting beaten up by passerbys and that they'll never beat the person to death. to quote her "da dao guo ying". omg. beat till they feel good? what kind of a mentality is that?? the guy seriously looked like he was going to be beaten to death. thank goodness the police came and the beating stopped. but ive got a feeling he'll still get beaten up at the police station. ahh wells.. let's just hope i wont be seeing anymore of such incidents :S

And so weeks of preparation just came down to one day. yesterday. prom.
ohh wells.. prom was alright i guess. not much difference from those that ive gone for so far. haha (ahh btw ive only come to realise that not all p6 kids get to have a graduation dinner at a hotel :/ )

Basically it's more of a time when everyone dresses up and takes pictures and pictures and more pictures. haha im no different :p but i made an effort to eat the food they served too! some people hardly even touched theirs. what a waste! haha.

It's really quite amazing to see people that you've always seen nearly everyday, for 2 yrs of your life, dress up and all. haha. I nearly couldnt recognise some of my friends. goodness. but i guess that's the fun of it all aint it ;)

We werent planning to go for the after-prom party at attica but we some how ended up there. haha. we initially wanted to go mos cos they were selling tickets for just 8bucks. but some of them didnt bring their id along. plus the queue was REAL long and the people looked kind of hostile. ahha. anyways.. didnt really dance cos i found it weird to just 'move from side to side' with the music with no particular purpose. it's like those christmas tree thingys where you clap and they sway from side to side with the music. ahhhaa. okkayy bad analogy. plus my feet were hurting realll bad :( heh.
try walking in a nearly-10cm high heeled shoe since morning and you'll know what i mean :s

Then the girls and i went back to my house cos they left their stuff there and we watched a movie till all of them fell aslp on the couch. haha. i was the only one left watching it, when ive already watched it before. super tired now.. and i've got to catch a morning flight tmr.
But i cant wait to go china!!! haha. im ready for the cold weather cammy! hit me :)

The girls came over to watch deathnote yesterday and it was funfunfun!
I actually thought deathnote was some kind of horror show at first. But then im glad i watched in the end cos it's really exciting! haha. Thought the deathgod looked kind of spooky but he's really not tt bad.. he's actually nicer than the main character :S

And L is just soooo cute. haha. When he first appeared i thought he looked like this grown up version of the juwon kid. but he gets cuter looking over time. he kind of grows on you lahh. haha. he's sucha cute sugar addict.. and he's oh-so-smart :)

I cant wait for part 2 to come out! The misa girl is going to turn evil with the guy and just how many deathnote books are there?? goodness.. and L is going to fall for misa?? ohh goshh.

Bahh my feet are stinging now cos of the horrible heels i had to wear for my job interview yesterday. The dress code was office-wear and i did not own a single office-like piece of clothing. Ransacked my mum's cupboard the night before and managed to find something just to get me through. But those heels. Those HEELS were killing me! The straps just suffocated and dug into my feet till blisters started forming. ouchouchouch. And i dont mean just one blister. Both my entire feet had blisters running across and everywhere cos of the straps. It looked as though i had ran through some thorn bushes barefooted :(

The job interview wasnt very scary but it did have an exel test!! Ohmygoodness. I've never used excel in my entire life and here is someone testing my excel skills and timing me at my first ever formal job interview! That kind of got me nervous cos i really didnt know how i was even going to finish it.. Felt like giving up halfway but ij girls aint quitters :) So i pressed on and with some help from piak and some nice ladies there (although i wasnt supposed to), i finally finished it! yays my first piece of excel work and job interview.. done.

I dont think i'll get the job cos the boss was already hinting to me. haha. The main reason was cos i cant start work till jan and they need urgent help for some big event somewhere during the last week of dec.. or at least so she claims! I sure hoped that's really the main reason and not because of my interview or my grades :S first time in my entire life did i finally feel the true importance of grades. dang i should have studied harder. Ahh wells.. no use crying over spilt milk.

Going to find another job after i come back. This time im not gg to go for some office job. It's reallll boring and i dont like typing figures and working with people's CPFs. haha

Im really lazy to transfer the pictures of my cross stitch today.. ahha shall do that another day. Sewed white yesterday and it's really frustrating cos you cant see it clearly and lots of mistakes kept popping up. Im onto brown now so my eyes need not strain as much.

haha my mummy intro-ed me to it when i was in primary sch but i started off by doing those really HUGE cross stitches that are like for small kids or something cos the stitches are so big that it's really easy to see and the thread's as thick as a wire.
The one im doing now has super tiny stitches that my eyes hurt after awhile.. but i think it's quite fun sewing x) ahaha my sis has started calling me a granny while is obviously a stereotypical view on sewing! Hello since when was knitting and sewing strictly for the elderly only hmmm?

Anyways.. i'll keep you updated on the progress of my cross stitch.. haha sorry if you're not very interested but that's basically how my day goes..

this is how it looked like yesterday at 1130pm. haha i just started a teeny bit on it.

It doesnt look very nice yet as you can tell.. but it'll get better.. and more distinct.

IT'S FINALLY OVERRRRR!

haha ive been living a good life ever since the night of thursday :D
wow 8 months to do so much stuff. never had such a longgg holiday ever and im actually quite at a lost as to what to do first and when. haha. Hmm but i planned to catch up on my sleep, tv and computer for a start.. which i have been doing! yays. Can finally enjoy my tv without having to feel guilty about it or having to worry about what chapters to do later :) :) Im just feeling so relieved that it's finally over and of course happy happy happy! haha. My cousin asked me to 'go havoc' abit now that i have so much free time. aww dont be jealous mr ng, you had your share of fun!

There's not much point worrying over how my results will turn out.. so we'll just have to wait and see! Im just really hoping to get into uni that's all.

I think i really messed up my gp paper today.
thought i was at a better advantage when i saw qn 3 in paper 1 cos i did a similiar qn during the mock exam and i didnt do that badly..

i know appearances are not everything.. but in this society.. looks matter ALOT or i dare say.. most! Nearly everything is based on first appearances. How many people will actually really get to know the people they see in the mrt or meet on the streets? IT'S THE FIRST IMPRESSION THAT COUNTS. and that's so unfair judging from how good-looking people get better treatment than those who arent.
who said the world was a better place?
i dont blame those who go under the knife to look better. I used to look down on such people cos if God gave them their looks.. they shouldnt alter that right? But now.. if it gives you self confidence and an edge in society.. why not? After all isnt wearing braces a form of cosmetic surgery too? Isnt it changing the looks of yourself for the better? If wearing braces can be accepted in society i dont see why one who has had cosmetic surgery should be stigmatised.

Tuesday was a fun fun day :)
went out with the ij gals and i must say i really enjoyed myself. haha.

watched the 'Host' with eunice and lia (too bad bernie couldnt make it and michelle had to go off early). My teeth were chattering nearly throughout the movie. Im quite sure it was because of the cold and not cos the movie was so darn intense! haha. The two silly girls beside me were screaming and covering their eyes with their bags.. especially eunice :D
but overall.. it was a pretty good movie! of course the company makes it better :)

Attended the TEAM SA tea session yesterday. hmm..i thought the food last year was better though.. more variety and less fried stuff. haha. Anyway.. nearly had a heart attack when i saw myself canoeing on the screen when they played a short video! So embarrassing please! Especially when you're super exhausted and you're face is all contorted. ahaha. still.. i think im quite honoured to be part of the video :)

in the meantime.. i'll have to seriously start mugging hard for As :(

Just weighed myself yesterday and i cant believe i lost weight!
2kg to be exact. oh my. Im not sure if it's the muscle mass i lost or fat loss. haha. but i dont really look skinner i think. but according to my sis.. she says that i look skinner now.
ohh wells.. i think it's a combination of factors that contributed to my drastic weight loss!
1) havent been eating well
2) havent been sleeping early
3) prelim stress cos i havent really been studying
4) miss my mummy! :(
5) worrying over the slightest things
6) just dont feel like eating

Dropped 2kg in a week :S :S that's quite scary.

Recently found out that a hand-action game that my friends and i came up with in p3/4 is still being played now.

and so my competition ends.
i managed to clear the heats, into the semis.. but didnt make it into the finals..
but considering that we only got our equipment in feb and started proper trainings with it around march.. semi-finals achievement isnt that bad! haha
at least we gave the other schools a hard fight!
and they wont be laughing at us anymore. HA

Although there were pre-race nervousness, the whole race experience was super fun :)
from the cheering and ogling of eyecandies to the warmups and guzzling of glucose and red bull! haha
it's been real touching too.. to see those out there on the battling field, giving it their all and never giving up till the end. The j1s only mastered their k1 (super unstable boat) within 1 and a half months.. but they managed to keep up with their MUCH more experienced competitors (mainly j2s from other schools). Their daily dedication during the 1 and a half months have really paid off.
imagine what they might accomplish if they continue working as hard for another year?
the medals are definitely within our grasp!

Met my cousin yesterday, for the first time after he went into ns.
wow. Realised that ns is quite fun. haha. lots of meals, bonding, night patrolling, ghost stories and throwing of grenades! On top of that you get paid for doing all that stuff. How good is that? definitely better than working your butt off in macdonalds :S haha

so what if vj beat us in soccer?
the saints spirit that was so strong today was more than enough to make up for that.

haha. the players' drive was evident too. Im sure they gave it their all, however i dont think i can say today's match was their best. heh. But it was still good all the same! :) Hate to say this.. but vj was just too strong an opponent.

i think the first goal was partly our mistake. After half-time was over, we started attacking more (at the expense of our defense). There were less players defending near our goal as compared to the first half of the match. Vj struck us when majority of our players were near our scoring area. Our players just didnt have enough time to run back to defend the oncoming ball.. too little players there.. of course unsurprisingly, they managed to score :( after which i think our players didnt really know how to salvage the situation.. Were they supposed to concentrate more on defence or attack? We had to do well in both cos that was the only way we would come back from behind. Unfortunately, vj took advantage of this and in the end won. heh. Well..that's just from a noob's point of view. But vj was really strong lah. So i cant really complain.

Let's just hope we'll clinch the 3rd position title now :)

it was qt unexpected actually.. considering that rj beat us earlier this year.
I was actually expecting our rugby team to give it their all but still come in second after rj. oops :p
but of course winning it is EVEN better!
who in the world expected us to win when it's been seventeeeeeen long years since we got into the finals and won.
should have seen the faces of the rj players lah! wahh damn shiok x) haha
but our players deserved to win. They really trained hard for it.. so kudos to the rugby team!

Hockey, too, managed to beat rj yesterday. Double set-back for rj. haha

The unexpected was achieved.
So i guess nothing's really impossible if you're determined to be successful.

Today's been EVENTFUL.
1) JJ Lin came down to our school
2) Had training start early and end early. But was one of the toughest trainings we've ever had.
3) Watched rugby in RJC. RJ vs SA. RJ won :( but SA played hard.. so im sure there are not much regrets.

Im not even a true-blue fan of JJ, but somehow i was still starstruck when i saw him performing on stage. haha. Saw Adam and some girl from channel U too! Managed to take a pic with them x)

Didnt intend to go down to rj to support rugby. It just happened that mr chey asked if we wanted to go down to support cos his car had 3 vacant seats, so he could afford to give us a lift there. And kellyn and i ended up cheering the saints on in rj. haha. But it was a good experience. Wow. Didnt know why i didnt study harder for my O levels and qualify for rj. haha. It seemed so nice there.. Oh wells.. the grass on the other side always seems greener i suppose. :P

But just thought that they just wanted us to come down or something. Really didnt expect them to surprise us! We started smashing the cake on each other's faces after that until the entire playground was super dirty! haha. At least we cleared it up O:)
But cos jonnie's glasses got flung off his face in a struggle not to have cake smashed on him, we started treasure-hunting for his BLACK glasses in the bushes in mid-DARKNESS. haha. but we managed to find it eventually :)

Didnt sleep till around 3am, although there was school the next day. haha. We were like zombies the next day! Couldnt really stay awake, much less concentrate in class!
but hey at least we managed to complete one of our many activities we planned to achieve. Next is cycling right? ;)

yays! ate home-cooked food today.. im happy :)
Havent been eating proper food for the past 2 weeks ever since my mummy went over to china. haha.

Went over to my aunt's house for dinner. Gosh dinner was just super! Ate till our bellies were SO big. haha. Cant wait for my mummy to come home this weds :)
Although..having home-cooked food means the sacrifice of other things.. Like the use of computer! haha. opportunity costs.. :P

Im burnt!
Just came back from the MR500 race at seletar reservoir. There was kayaking and dragonboat racing. Many many schools were there.. NUS, NTU, NJC, SRJC, NYP, MJC, etc etc , different companies and country representatives. So happening! The atmosphere was just super. haha.

kel and i took part in the T2 race. Had a bad start. Didnt know that the first horn meant GO! Thought was after the 2nd horn. haha. cos the starter just said "10secs to start" and then the horn sounded straight away.. :S :S
Our kayaking started off pretty alright i suppose. At least it was straight and we werent too far behind the others! haha. But after that our direction was BAD! Just couldnt seem to keep straight. Lost quite a bit of time trying to get back into our lane. So in the end the gap was quite wide. Halfway through we just couldnt stop laughing cos the we thought our direction was super hilarious! hahaha. Laughed all the way back to the shore. The people along the shore must have thought we were lunatics! haha. Came in last.. but oh wells.. at least we had fun :) :)

Realised that my arm muscles are really puny as compared to other canoeists. Maybe i need to get stronger in order to win them. haha. Motivated to train even harder! Woots! what an experience! yays :D

Got a shock earlier!
received a phone call from my brother's camp 'leader' to say that he vomitted before and after his dinner and i had to come down to bring him home cos he wanted to come home. Oh my.. had to take a bus down to his school and bring him home. Felt quite uncomfortable cos i was the only girl there when i went down and it's an all-boys sch and was quite late already. xP thought the boys there would be at least of secondary age.. but realised (much later) that all the 'leaders' were past monfort boy scouts! no wonder they looked so much older than me lah. haha. so paiseh then..cos i thought i looked so much younger than them at that time.

Was expecting him to be real sick or smtg.. but realised that he was just exhausted from camp (when we were talking on the bus) that's why he vomitted. or at least that's what i've come to conclude. haha. he was telling me all the horrible things they made them do and how he hated it and all. haha. i think his body cant adapt to the change in environment. he's sleeping like a log now. so that's a good sign.. at least i doubt he'll need to see a doctor in the meantime :)

Wow today has been an eventful day!
Started off the day with having to do cip at IMH (institute of mental health) aka woodbridge hospital. super meaningful trip! got me thinking on alot of things.. Visiting the children's ward first helped vanish all my earlier fears. haha. they weren't as crazy as how we expected them to be (except for maybe one or two).. but they actually seem quite normal! Not all are psychotic and down right crazy ok.. haha. Some are just depressed tt's all! Anyway the longest that someone has stayed in the children's ward is 2 wks so you can tell that the cases arent so severe (except for one who's been there for 2 years). Makes me feel lucky that im actually healthy and normal.. at least in the mind! :S
Went to the adults ward after that. my fear kicked in again on seeing the patients through the clear locked doors.. heh. but it wasnt so bad when we actually went in cos there were some who were really nice. I guess they seem to be under control with the help of medication. Of cos there are some who arent as under control as others but somehow after awhile..u dont see them as being weird anymore.. Hopefully i dont lose my insanity when im older.

A patient gave us some advice.. " Dont take things too hard. Just take it as it is and try your best at it again. Dont follow me. Remember to study hard."

Some of them seem to think more clearly than many of us. Mentally unstable? Nahh.. I dont think so.

Went to NUS and NTU open houses after that. Found out more about the various courses and programmes available. Slightly more motivated to study harder now. But dont really feel like gg on to university tho.. heh. Every course doesnt seem to appeal to me.. oh dear..

Just realised today that my arms are BIG! Big, fat, thick arms... all thanks to canoeing. heh. Oh wells.. cant be helped. haha. At least it will help in my NAPFA test :S
Got selected to take part in this fri's friendly match with TPJC (and VJC?) through the help of open numbers! haha. It's all fated man.. Super motivated to improve my technique and trash em all!

Met up with my great-grand auntie today. OH MY! haha nvr knew i had still had a "great-something" relative till today. She just came back to singapore from canada for a short holiday to visit relatives. Havent seen her before cos her entire family migrated to Canada since long long ago. haha. She's quite cute! So feisty and full of life! And she doesnt look her age of 86 at all.. i think she actually looks younger than my grandmother (whose her niece). haha. Hope i can go there and visit my other relatives there some day too :)

Hmm..been saying oh my word recently. Influenced by my dear canoeing mate, Kellyn! hahaha. It just came all of a sudden and i cant stop using the phrase now..

haha super fun but real tiring! Going to dragonboat again on weds. Cant wait till then :)

Havent been blogging in AGES! super duper busy. haha. SRY!
Anyways.. had cny celebrations today. Must say the concert was really great :) hmm..dont know abt last year's celebrations cos i went back to ij.. but i really thought tt the concert was so enjoyable. haha although it was slightly longer than it was scheduled to be.

Was supposed to have trng after the celebrations but somehow all the girls werent gg cos the capt and vice-capt werent gg either. haha. Met up with some of them aft the concert with ms ong and she sounded super disappointed. I think ms ong is good in making ppl feel bad and guilty without having to punish or scold us.. She plays with our conscience with such great effect. haha. Felt really bad after she talked to us..
i promise i'll train harder the next time :)
